Check in to your city-center, deluxe hotel. Hilton Moscow Day 2 - Explore Moscow Visit Red Square#WHS# and see St. Basil’s Cathedral Drive by Novodeyvichy Convent#WHS# and ascend Sparrow Hills. A tour of the Kremlin#WHS# includes the Cathedrals and Armory Museum. Meals B,D Day 3 - Moscow / Fly to Novosibirsk, Siberia Fly to Novosibirsk and check-in to your comfortable superior tourist hotel. Meals B,D Hotel Sibir Day 4 - Novosibirsk / Akademgorodok / Trans-Siberian Railway See the Opera House and Chapel of St. Nicholas. Visit the Railroad Museum and Akademgorodok – a secret, Soviet-era think tank. This evening, board the Trans-Siberian Railway. Meals B,L Trans-Siberian Railway Day 5 - Trans-Siberian Rail Journey “There is no railway journey of comparable length,. Day 6 - Arrive Irkutsk Disembark in Irkutsk, an old Cossack outpost, for breakfast and a free morning at your hotel. Later, see richly-carved homes, St. Savior Church, Znamensky Convent and the market. Meals B,D Baikal Hotel Day 7 - Experience Lake Baikal #WHS# Explore the pristine, forested shores of Lake Baikal aboard the 100-year-old Circum-Baikal scenic railway. See the longest tunnel on the Trans-Siberian and journey on the lake to the village of Listvyanka for a tranquil overnight. Meals B,L,D Listvyanka Hotel Day 8 - Lake Baikal / Trans-Siberian Rail Tour Listvyanka and the local museum and ascend Chersky Peak by chair lift for a short hike and great views. Sample Baikal specialties at lunch and then visit the Taytsy Open-Air Museum of Wooden Architecture en route to Irkutsk where you reboard the Trans-Siberian train. Meals B,L Trans-Siberian Railway Day 9 - Ulan Ude / Make-A-Friend Arrive Ulan Ude. Transfer to your hotel and visit Ivolginsk Datsan, an active Buddhist monastery. Meals B,L Hotel Geser Day 10 - Ulan Ude / En route to Mongolia Visit the Museum of Ethnography and then board the train bound for Mongolia. Meals B,L Trans-Siberian Rail Day 11 - Ulaanbaatar / Meet Mongolian Nomads in the Gobi Desert This morning we fly to the Southern Gobi Desert and visit Bayan Zag, the Flaming Cliffs, renowned for the discovery of dinosaur fossils. Next, we visit with the local Nomads to discuss their lifestyle and have a camel riding adventure. Tonight, experience a sunset in the desert and overnight in a traditional-style felt and wooden ger tented camp. Ger Camp – Meals B,L,D Day 12 - Ulaanbaatar / Gobi Desert Fly to the Gobi Desert and visit the Flaming Cliffs, where the first dinosaur eggs were discovered. Visit with local Nomads and overnight in a traditional ger tented camp. Meals B,L,D Ger Camp Day 13 - Gobi Desert / Ulaanbaatar Return to Ulaanbaatar and visit the Bogd Gegen Palace, home of the last Khan. Meals B,L,D Ulaanbaatar Hotel Day 14 - Ulaanbaatar / Beijing, China Fly to Beijing and transfer to your hotel.
